Things to know before starting

This is a quick preview: research and development work is still ongoing.

Why "emotions" and not a simple vote:

The emotions
EmotionMeaning
enthusiasm Good for the group.
rejection Bad for the group.
fear Puts the group in danger.
wonder Very good path for the group.

Your personal emotional power: 280. Number of people already expressed: *. Simulation for a group of * people.

The test

Actions of a fictional group you would be part of to solve the problem of planetary ecosystem destruction.
Information Collective emotion of ... Choose your level of ...
Action Emotional energy required % of trigger attainment % in conflict enthusiasm rejection fear wonder enthusiasm rejection fear wonder
Demand

Public and political awareness movements so that appropriate actions are decided by politicians. Politicians encouraging each other between countries so that solutions are undertaken globally.

Build

Creation of a new form of governance based on collective intelligence and long-term common good. Internally adopt this governance to experiment with it, improve it, and organize solidly. Extend this governance model to increasingly larger groups through adoption due to its effectiveness.

Seek technologies

Invest massively in scientific research to find innovative solutions by introducing new technologies.

Ask the left

Public awareness movements to lead a reformist left-wing policy that protects the environment, in enough countries to create a global movement.

Some explanations

Why do values decrease when I increase one ?
The total amount of emotions you can express is limited. In practice, the available amount would be greater because governance would handle many actions.
If the system has all our history and determines who did well, doesn’t it resemble a horrible dictatorship ?
Did you know it is possible to keep accounting records for millions of people without knowing the amounts ? It’s counterintuitive but true: see, for example, Zcash or zero-knowledge proofs. It even seems that a "zero knowledge of citizens" governance would be a good rule. Comind governance is oriented toward the long-term common good, so if something is done wrong, it will be highly profitable (and possible) to change it.
Who decides the required emotional energy ?
You are getting a taste of the emotional part here, but a large part of governance is found in an extended version of the scientific system to include uncertainties and respect for deadlines.
Return
Come back when you change your mind: Just like in the real governance that would be created, your emotions are recorded and adjustable at any time. Your decisions and those of other participants are aggregated to display the true values.
Why does the required emotional energy differ between actions
It's the necessary sum of positive energies (calculated by adding positives and subtracting negatives) to trigger the action. It depends on the cost (in time, money, etc.) necessary for the successful completion of the action.
How is the required emotional energy calculated
It does not reflect the total cost to society (whether gains are included or not), but only the cost for the group so that the action can succeed.
Why is the required emotional energy of the action recommended by Comind insignificant
This action has a ripple effect, so the initial energy needed for its successful completion is much lower. The ripple effect comes from the fact that it is constructive (so we are motivated by the accumulated progress made) and includes the gratification of participants (since it is a fair system that records who does what and rewards proportionate to the good performed). Compared to other actions where one is rowing upstream, it requires much less energy.
Why not just two emotions ?
For the same reason your psyche has several.
What is the benefit of fear ?
It's a less binary form of veto; it allows, with a smaller amount of emotion, to counter more positive energy. For example, if you are about to take a wonderful trip around the world filling you with joy, but you learn that there are frequent kidnappings in one of the countries, fear allows you to counter all those positive emotions without needing to generate a huge amount of emotion to counter all that joy.
What is the benefit of wonder ?
The same phenomenon as fear, but positive.
But then it’s enough to cheat and use fear and wonder to have more impact ?
Have you noticed how people who exaggerate all the time annoy you ? You spot them because they overuse this register. And once you understand, you apply a filter to compensate. In the end, the one who exaggerates loses because of the filter. Spotting those who exaggerate is easy when you have the whole history, and so the governance system will apply a filter. That’s why it will be simpler to be natural.
What does % in conflict mean ?
It’s the emotional energy burned because the positives and negatives counteract each other. In practice, this encourages people to discuss since it’s a loss of capacity. Just like in our psyche, where our conflicting emotions cause us problems.
How are collective emotions calculated ?
It’s the sum of all the emotions of the people. Since the number of participants is growing here, the display system is adjusted to make it appear as if the group isn’t constantly changing.
How is the % of trigger attainment calculated
First, the sum of positive emotions minus the negatives is calculated, with fear and wonder having a multiplier factor. Then a ratio is made against the required emotional energy. For example, if the action was to buy a coffee machine, only a few people might be enough to trigger the action. There are also questions of timing and other points that are not detailed here.
Isn't it absurd to be able to express contradictory emotions for the same action ?
It expresses, if you choose, your internal conflict. Comind could use the information of internal conflicts to deduce that the action has a coherence problem and needs to be reviewed.
