Roadmap

This section outlines Comind's development plan

The Phases

Launch
  • Request for feedback before opening
  • Opening announcements
  • Bug fixes
  • Improvement of organization and infrastructure (servers, security, system administration)
  • Staff expansion
  • Opening of funding
Indestructibility

Achieving this requires a high level of transparency. Security through transparency is known in computing to generally be more effective.

Public source code
This requires reviewing the source code from a security perspective. Estimated at a few days of work.
Public IT administration infrastructure
The goal is to provide all the necessary information to easily set up Comind servers. This involves making public all infrastructure, configurations, and administrative scripts. It requires security review as well as formatting of the information.
Transparent IT administration
This entails secure IT administration through transparency: all actions on servers are public.
Public data
To be indestructible, all data (except certain specific infrastructure passwords) must be public. This is not incompatible with privacy. For example, the cryptocurrency ZCash makes accounts public but in a way that prevents anyone from seeing others' transactions.
Reboot convergence system
It’s not enough for everything to be ready to reboot easily; the "where" also needs to be addressed. If multiple groups attempt to restart Comind, there is a significant risk of division. This is similar to a large group deciding where to host a party: without a method, the group could split. Additionally, we cannot rely on the goodwill of different groups restarting Comind; some individuals might attempt to take control to harm Comind.
Financial recovery system
This involves a mechanism that allows recovery of financial assets from the previous version once the reboot location has been established.
Without Privilege

This means that people's powers are tied to their effectiveness, not organizational flaws. For instance, in too many countries, a small group can initiate humanity's destruction through nuclear war—this is not due to these individuals' recognized efficiency in deciding humanity's fate but due to organizational flaws.

Entrusting the destiny of a large group to a few individuals grants a privilege whose dangers history has repeatedly demonstrated. Therefore, "without privilege" implies that Comind’s organization must not depend on any individual. There are no technical barriers to achieving this; it simply requires implementing the right systems.

Currently, the staff's privileges serve several functions that need to be replaced with versions leveraging collective intelligence:

Decision-making
Safeguards
Infrastructure management
Economically Competitive

Comind must have an anonymous and independent center, so transforming Comind into an economic activity is not an option. Instead, it involves supporting companies engaging with Comind through a decision-making infrastructure and support from Comind members. There are already more horizontal organizational models demonstrating greater efficiency, such as liberated companies.

With growing notoriety, another competitive domain will emerge: the reputation for integrity. Integrity is a significant competitive advantage in sectors where clients face issues of reliability and honesty with providers.

Through enterprise creation, Comind enables the testing and validation of collective intelligence processes.

More Effective Territorial Management

As shown in the "Understanding" section, humanity can no longer afford to lack efficient global governance for the long-term common good. This governance system must be a sophisticated collective intelligence because our world is complex. Transitioning to planetary territorial management can only occur after demonstrating increased efficiency in managing regions, starting small and scaling up. Conflicts are unnecessary, as many popular movements naturally globalize. To minimize tensions, Comind should aim for uniform dissemination across group dimensions (geographical, cultural, social class).

Progressions

The Mental Health of the Collective Mind

We adopt the definition of mental health from Wikipedia, adding a natural inclination to project oneself into positive futures.

Observing the collective mind's mental health is important as it provides a good criterion for identifying problems that the group might not be aware of.

A healthy intelligence that doesn’t face insurmountable obstacles consistently adds new systems to enhance its life. This currently seems utopian given today's lack of freedom and prospects. Yet, this is life’s reality, as evidenced by the evolution of Earth’s living systems, which tend to grow richer and more beautiful (albeit with the notable transitional state that our authoritarian culture interprets as insurmountable rather than as the precursor to a level shift).

Criteria for observation could include:

  • A tendency to solve problems with elegant and pleasant solutions rather than by force.
  • A tendency toward development rather than stagnation.
  • A tendency to improve members’ mental health.
  • A tendency to enhance the group’s integrity and that of its members.
The Level of Justice

Justice is broadly defined here: all rules influencing people’s motivations. For example, it is just to receive recognition for work benefiting the common good. Improving the justice delivered by Comind is essential. Progress in these areas is needed:

Theory
Advances on the subject of motivation are already available
Measurement of individuals’ impacts
This is a challenging and sensitive yet important point: assessing the effects of actions on the long-term common good.
Motivation methods
A variety of methods can exist; remuneration and penalties are well-known, but new methods can be invented.

With progress in these areas and Comind's increased resources, we can enhance the quantity and quality of justice delivered.

Public Expression and Notoriety

A human society like Comind needs to communicate its identity internally and externally. This could include news dissemination, art, culture, etc. For example:

Language

Lobbies create linguistic elements because they are a powerful tool: the meaning of words can confine or liberate thought. Thus, Comind must not only represent reality but also define vocabulary, as already done in existing texts. For instance, the liberal movement could be renamed the deregulation movement because it represents freedom for the wealthiest but confinement for others; see also the new definition of the word authoritarian.

Personal expression

Currently, social networks tend to confine people through confirmation bias. This is unnatural, as real life, through friends or chance, pushes us toward new horizons. A Comind social network could guide people toward what they love and also toward new horizons based on their preferences. For example, someone preoccupied with diseases could be regularly shown the highest-rated content for overcoming this fear.

As Comind advances and its ideas spread, positive notoriety, especially regarding its integrity, should grow.
